How To Get the Burlington Chamber to Market You in The Burlington Post (For FREE)

As current Chair of the Burlington Chamber's Marketing & Communication Committee, part of my duties include encouraging local businesses to send in articles for publication in the Burlington Post. There's no cost or fee for this service and it's a great way to get exposure for your local business. If you'd like to be published in the centre spread please send us your content. The guidelines for submission are below. Any questions ... just ask me :-)

PROCEDURE FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS

About the articles:

The articles must be no longer than 250 words and be non-self promoting. There are two articles needed for each month.

There are three areas featured for the Centrespread:

* Business to Business – where a company will write information to share their expertise with other businesses

* Growing Your Business Through the Chamber – a testimonial type of article on how the Chamber can help grow your business as you’ve experienced it (see below for ideas)

* Quick Tips – a point form type of article similar to the Business to Business but focusing on a ‘how to’ idea. ie Quick Tips on networking or Quick Tips on starting up a business

Some ideas for ‘Growing Your Business’ are:

Increased business recognition:
Involvement in Chamber Committees
Attendance at Trade Show Events
Business Directory & website listings

Cost savings:

Membership benefits that include:
LTD & Group Health Insurance
Bell Mobility savings plan
Esso Direct Driver Billing program

Relationship Building:

Networking, support and camaraderie at:
Business after 5
Business before 9
Golf

Increased Sales:

Involvement in Chamber Committees provides further insights into the business community
Networking events help identify potential new clients and suppliers

The Burlington POST may contact the authors of the articles to take out an ad that would compliment their article; this is not mandatory for the article to be published.

Articles can be sent to the Chamber office via email (kathryn@burlingtonchamber.com), where it is edited and send it back to the author for publication approval. Once approved, it is submitted to the POST. Articles are due to the Chamber the first Wednesday of each month.

AND... you need to be a member of the Chamber too ;-)

James,
This is one of the easiest ways for chamber members to promote themselves. I repeat "it is a no brainer." Anyone can write a 250 article with tips for their market. I was pubished many times on this page.
